Wave is in the process of getting approval from The City of Miami Beach. This project will stretch from 5th to nearly 7th street between Alton Road and West Avenue. The developer, Crescent Heights, is proposing 551 condo residences which will span over 4 buildings. It’s a major project which will clean up a huge eyesore residents and tourists presently see when entering South Beach.
Along Alton Road there will be 3 buildings including the extensive renovation of the long vacant South Shore Hospital. The hospital is 10 stories. Within the buildings along Alton Road there will be 485 condos, over 73,000 square feet of retail space and 690 parking spaces.
On the West Avenue side there will be a 6 story building with 66 condo residences and a large lobby with a spa and fitness center. 350 parking spaces, below and above ground, will be constructed. Going with the trend of roof top pools this project is also proposing a roof top pool for this mid rise tower.
This developer is making his 4th attempt at getting this project going. This is the first time work has actually started on the old hospital and they knocked down a smaller building. They had proposed a massive high rise in their last attempt but the city administration put their foot down saying they wouldn’t give a variance allowing such a height. This project is likely going to be very similar to what they last proposed.
